Parish Priest:  The Revd. Fr. Walter Firth took up his appointment in the Parish on the 15th Jan 2013. His previous appointments include: being the Assistant Deacon in the Parish of Cessnock/Wollombi, the Assistant Priest in the Parish of Cessnock, the Chaplain to Calvary Retirement Community, and the Chaplain to Northern Coalfields Community Care Association

Prior to ordination Fr. Walter was a high school teacher and was a member of the pastoral care team at the John Hunter Hospital. He brings with him a wealth of educational and pastoral experience and has been intstrumental in the production of professional children’s ministry programmes.


Deacon in Local Ministries:  The Revd. Penny McDonald has been part of the local community for many years. Penny worked in local child care for many years, and continues her love of engaging with children through her teaching of Scripture at Toukley Public School. Penny used to teach yoga and applies some of the gentle exercises in our Renewal programme along with Christian meditation that goes back 2000 years.

Penny can be found on most days of the week around our Op Shop where she is available to sit and chat with, or make one of our delicious coffees. She also takes reserved sacrament to our four local nursing homes and to those unable to attend church due to sickness or advancing years.
